If there are not legal & cultural structures dedicated to your public exclusion & the denial of your rights/humanity, YOU ARE NOT OPPRESSED. You may be practicing a marginal identity, but you are not oppressed. And trying to equalize oppressions is never appropriate.

Hmmmm, what did I say about this earlier? Oh, yeah, this:
Look at who’s dying.
It was shocking to discover how simple and pervasive that is. Because when you come down to it, oppression is meant to maintain power by annihilating the Other. Whether by violence or neglect, the oppressed are the ones who are dying because the system is set up to kill them.
