all this equalizing of oppressions
If there are not legal & cultural structures dedicated to your public exclusion & the denial of your rights/humanity, YOU ARE NOT OPPRESSED. You may be practicing a marginal identity, but you are not oppressed. And trying to equalize oppressions is never appropriate.
(You hear me, privilege-denying atheists?)
Oh look, more truth. My dash is just full of truth this morning.
well, there’s that.
I think this has a lot to do with a stagnating of thought creation. One that begins as a necessary and human tendency to compare similarities and expand the umbrella of an idea to all possible touch points or fractal/parallel manifestations…but then is wielded lazily and a paradigm becomes an end point in reasoning. Students stuck in a 101 class. There will be a point further on where they can see finer points, nuance, important variations on similar ideas. But for the moment, it’s a one size fits all approach to ideologies.
And then White folks turn around and say that we aren’t as capable of abstract or intellectual thought.
